La Carrera Panamericana, like the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race, is an event completely unique to itself and recalls motorsports from a very different era. Racing against the clock at high speed on public highways, mostly through the mountains of central Mexico for a week. What could possibly go wrong? Very soon we're going to find out.
